Osmond Brothers Appear With Andy Williams At Arena
July 2, 1968

Andy Williams, the best selling pop male vocalist in the phonograph industry today, will bring his considerable talent to the HIC Arena on July 3 and 4 at 8 p.m.

In addition to Andy and his 35-piece orchestra, the holiday entertainment package will feature talented pianist Peter Nero and The Osmond Brothers, the well-known singing family of the Andy Williams television show.

Andy Williams has proven to be an outstanding performer in a multi-faceted career encompassing television, recordings, night clubs and concert tours.  Andy’s talent has catapulted him to the top of the entertainment world.  But, make no mistake about his easy-going attitude; he possesses a desire and capacity to work hard for whatever success he might achieve.

Andy Williams, was born in Wall Lake, Iowa; a farming community from which the star acquired his easy-going manner.  Jay Williams, Andy’s father, was the local music leader who organized the church choir.  Not being a passive contributor, the elder Williams enlisted his own family…his wife and his four sons…Bob, Dick, Don, and Andy, as the nucleus of the choir…a choir that was eventually to become world renowned as “The Williams Brothers.”  Later, Andy decided to do a single and the results have proved to be successful.

On December 16, 1961, Andy married Claudine Longet, an attractive dancer-actress from Paris.  Today, the Williams’ live in a lovely 34-year old home in Holmby Hills, styled after an Italian villa.  Their daughter, Noelle Christine, was born in St. Joseph’s Hospital on September 24, 1963.  Their son, Christian Jay, was born in the same hospital on April 15, 1965.

Andy is interested in sports, especially golf…in fact, this year he had his own golf tournament on the PGA trail, The Andy Williams San Diego Open in February.

Tickets for the show are priced at $6.50, $5, $3.50 and $2.50.
