Jimmy Osmond Is Bringing Band Of Brothers
Back To Hastings

Hastings Observer
June 12, 2011

THE world’s original boy band are heading to Hastings as part of their final UK tour – by special request of one of the members.

The Osmonds are coming to these shores next year and after treading the boards in last year’s White Rock theatre pantomime, Jimmy has persuaded Wayne, Jay and Merrill to add 1066 Country to their schedule. The Observer understands Jimmy specially requested that the band visit Hastings because he so enjoyed his time here over Christmas.

The brothers are planning to perform all their biggest hits from Love Me For A Reason to Crazy Horses, Bad Apple to Jimmy’s number one smash hit, Long Haired Lover From Liverpool.

Jimmy said: “We truly want this tour to be a great big thank you to all our fans for their love and support through the years.

“We have performed in the UK many times and this final tour allows us to get up close and personal with our fans.”

Jay and Merrill were original members of The Osmonds when they formed in 1958 with Jimmy and Donny joining later.

They have wowed crowds for more than five decades, although original members Wayne and Alan rarely perform any more while Donny works with their sister Marie.

Jimmy was a huge hit as Buttons in popular panto production of Cinderella, and Osmond mania gripped the theatre as fans flocked from all over the country to see him – with some even booking for the entire run to watch their hero as many times as possible.

David Sismore, marketing manager at the White Rock was over the moon at the coup.

He said: “We are all very excited that as part of their final tour The Osmond Brothers have decided to perform here.

“Jimmy Osmond is one of the nicest people you could hope to meet, a real pleasure to work alongside, a true professional who took time out after the shows to chat to fans and sign autographs – in short, a very kind and considerate person and a true star.”

The Osmonds will appear on Sunday, March 18, and tickets are £30.50/£28.50.
