Brother-and-sister duo favorites Donny & Marie Osmond kick off exciting changes to their Flamingo Showroom production starting next Tuesday. They recently celebrated their 500th show since opening Sept. 9, 2008. Their original 6-month contract was extended through the end of this year just six weeks later. Now with the new changes, it looks like another contract extension.

“Donny & Marie have been very popular entertainers on the Strip for nearly three years now, and many of their fans come back over and over again to see the show,” said Rick Mazer, president of the Flamingo. “We are very excited about the changes to the show, as it will give guests a whole new experience, whether they’ve seen Donny & Marie several times or if it’s their first time. I’m sure fans will return to see the new show again and again!”

The lively, 90-minute variety show will still incorporate singing, dancing, comedy and the stars’ signature brother-sister banter. One of the most recognizable changes is the show’s new opening number, which features “It Takes Two” and “Vegas Love,” a song from the duo’s first album in 30 years, Donny & Marie, which was released this month. Immediately after the opening is Dance Stomp, with an energetic dance sequence set to “Get the Party Started,” “Dancing in the Streets,” “Knock on Wood,” “Higher” and “Dance to the Music.”

Marie’s portion of the show now includes a fun mashup of “Walk this Way” and “These Boots Were Made for Walkin’,” which was inspired by Glee. The energy-filled country number includes line dancing and an only-in-Vegas Swarovski crystal-covered electric guitar and cowboy boots. Marie also sings a new Broadway medley, featuring classics such as “All That Jazz,” “Cabaret,” “But the World Goes ’Round” from New York, New York and “Somewhere” from West Side Story.

Donny debuts a new version of “Yo-Yo,” the classic he recorded with his brothers 40 years ago. He also plays the piano for “Whenever You’re in Trouble,” a personal song he wrote about one of his sons. They have retained the dance off inspired by Dancing With the Stars, which Donny won and Marie finished third in separate seasons. As Vegas DeLuxe reported last week, Marie remarried her first husband Stephen Craig here in Las Vegas on May 4.
