MT. PLEASANT--The restored Mt. Pleasant Library open house held April 23 included games, balloons, and book signings.
Doors opened April 18 for the first time since the "Prairie" style building was restored by Craig Paulson, Spring City. Paulson is known for restoring historical buildings throughout Utah.
The author meet and greet was held inside the library where, Carla Kelly, Julie Wright, Justin Osmond and Ronda Hendrickson, shared stories about their books and signing them for library patrons.
Across the street, the Mt. Pleasant Recreation Center was the place to be for the kids, with games, a blow-up slide, cotton candy, and popcorn.
Friends of the Library sponsored this event to introduce the new surroundings and as a way to show appreciation for the support from Mt. Pleasant City and the surrounding communities to this award winning Carnegie library.
Maggon Osmond and a large showing of volunteers combined efforts to make the open house a success.
Anyone who would like to become a member of the "Friends of the Library" call the library at 462-3240.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at a later date.
