Singer Merrill Osmond Hopes To Enhance
Nashville Sound

Press Release
June 2, 2011

Nashville, TN - Merrill Osmond, lead singer of the legendary 1970s group The Osmonds, hopes to bring music to the ears of people with hearing impairments. Later this month he’ll host Symphony of Wellness Featuring Merrill Osmond & Friends. The event will raise money for a charity close to Osmond’s heart: the Olive Osmond Perpetual Hearing Fund, named in honor of his mother.

"My son Justin launched this charity and has committed his life to helping the hearing impaired," says Osmond. "Justin is himself 90% deaf so you can imagine how deeply committed I am to this cause."

This event is part of a series of Symphony of Wellness concerts scheduled around the United States this summer to help the Olive Osmond Perpetual Hearing Fund. The concerts are sponsored by WellCity, a new, Brentwood, Tennessee-based social networking site for people with a passion for wellness and are in partnership with the WellCity Foundation. Merrill Osmond serves on WellCity’s Board of Directors.

"Music is all I have ever known and WellCity is giving me the opportunity to work music into the art of healing as I have always envisioned," Osmond explains. "Music is an element that evokes all kinds of feelings that can be used to aid in healing like no other medium."

Two of Osmond’s older brothers are also deaf.

Tickets to the Nashville event are available now. To get yours, visit www.wellcity.com and click the Symphony of Wellness tab.
