An article appeared in the paper regarding the Osmond Studios being forced to close part of its operations. The article stated a slump in the entertainment industry was forcing a reduction of 50 people in operations and personnel. The people would be laid off Friday—with the layoff, the Osmonds would be closing down the sound stage operations and many shop functions including construction and scenic areas. 20-25 people in the editing and duping bays were going full blast and would not be affected. Ron Clark stated the entire entertainment industry operations were down 12%. Part of the production closing involved the making of television commercials.
Three weeks after the lay-off of 50 employees, Ron Clark stated many facets of management were being re-structured, including financial management. He said some departments would be completely restructured. A press conference would be held next week regarding financial changes. |
