The special on ABC-TV marked the first time the American music-buying public had an opportunity to vote on whom they considered their favorite entertainers. Over 43,000 ballots were mailed out by a New York firm to get a public survey. Dick Clark was the executive producer and the show received a very high rating. Donny and Michael were assisted by Ricky Segall and Rodney Allen Rippy. According to Spotlight Magazine, Donny and Michael attended a big party at the Beverly Hills Hotel and then went to see a movie together. |

The Osmond Foundation was presented with an Honor Roll Award by the Utah Education Association. During their presentation, they stated: “The Osmond Foundation aims to help persons with blindness and deafness. It seeks to diminish the problems of the alcoholism and drug abuse. In fact, the organization’s charitable aims are unlimited. One Utah teacher reported that she has found eleven students who needed expensive hearing aids. The Osmond Foundation quickly supplied each student with the needed device. The Utah Education Association applauds the Osmonds and their noble efforts to uplift others. It’s with vast pride that we present this Honor Roll Award to the Osmond Foundation.” |
