A letter was written to the Osmonds by Elder Mark E. Peterson from the Council of the Twelve of the LDS Church. In the letter it stated he had just viewed a film which the Osmonds had prepared for the Church on the subject of Family Home Evenings. In the letter he stated it was their plan to give it very extensive coverage, not only in all parts of the Church to stimulate Church members into Family Home Evenings, but also to use it as a television feature to help the missionaries introduce the gospel into the home of those who will recognize what we have in great family organization through the Church. The letter concludes with: “Your great service is certain to interest a great many people in the program of the Church, as presented by the missionaries and will be inspiration to the Latter-day Saints everywhere to follow your good example. (The film being referred to is Love At Home.) |
